Humans Forgotten

Abdullah Anik Misra explained that the Qur’an expresses the word “heart” using different Arabic words at different times; these can mostly be summed up as the Arabic words qalb, fuaad and lubb. Since in the Arabic language, there is no such thing as an exact synonym, there are subtle differences in the root meanings and indications given by the different words that must be understood if one wants to understand the nuances of the Qur’anic message. Nuances or not, heart or qalb is prominent in the Quran. Unfortunately, it is not prominent anymore in the world we live in. 'I just don't have the heart', a famous song by Sir Cliff Richard is one of the many songs that talks about the heart being central to love, decisions, longings and etc. However, do we see it anymore.. the referring to the heart or the qalb in doing things, tasks, jobs, businesses? Not much, sometimes, not even a little and usually when we do show heart, the dollar smell or feel just cannot be shut out from the decision. Thus our current show of heart is not really the actual god given heart but rather pre-conditioned, stimulus and response based that nullified our god given ability, the one true thing that according to Covey, sets us apart from other beings, the ability to decide on how we want to behave in reaction to any circumstances. It is in these decisions that if we follow the origin of humans, the heart will surface and our decisions will be liberating not only to us but all that we can touch.

Teachers

Culturally unacceptable student behaviors in school environment has become alarmingly high about which many people are concerned. Any sane person would believe that the steady growth of these trends will damage the education system and of based on the domino effect, the country.. I believe that you can find the reasons of this disorder in our educational environments and non-qualified teachers rather than the students' own issues. It is strongly proven that the atmosphere has a significant effect on human reactions. Low air quality standards, lacking of air conditioning, insufficient space for playing, crowded environments are some examples that scientists have proven to be linked to students’ behavior. I would like to point out to the many many many 'don't' or 'jangan's' or 'cannot's' that can bee seen or heard filling up the school environment. Not only that these words are natural creativity killers, they are also strong silent challenges for the students to do the absolute opposite.The reason is that students are young and energetic and are natural sponges for information; factual or emotional ones thus governments should modify school standards and allocate more subsidies to school managers to reorganize the facilities and space and also to change the shape of our educational area from an office to a calm place for our students together with banning or reducing the words and phrases I mentioned earlier. And, importantly.. check the teachers, are they interested to be teachers, will they enjoy teaching etc,...

Our heroes

In the old days, the heroes would be straight forward good noble gentlemen. They would fight fair, be curt though sometimes possessing rough exteriors but never, never ever can they be associated with anything remotely negative. The heroes of the old days would be shown in great torments if they have to decide between fighting for one brother or a good friend for the throne of a kingdom or to tell the wife that he will have to fight hundreds of marauders the day after instead of staying home with her. It was as clear as daylight then and still crystal clear now that they are good human with crystal hearts.

Heroes were like that in the old days because society demanded it to be like that. We do not have many clear cut heroes anymore and if we do, if we're talking movies here, probably they won't sell as well.

Why so? Why are we living in constant need of fallen heroes, gangsters as heroes, thieves as heroes (remember Clint Eastwood in Blondie trilogy or Michael Douglas in Wall Street) or even ghosts as heroes? We, well rather most of us would claim that we are mature enough to know that humans are not perfect and thus heroes should also be imperfect.

Imperfection, imperfection in God's creation? Well even if I do agree on the imperfection issue, why must imperfection equals bad, negative or not kind?

Friends, heroes have changed because of our demands. we demanded the change and the stories and the movies followed suit. Society have decided on the kind of preferred heroes wanted.

Maybe, our society is too bad that we want our heroes to be bad too so that we will fill good after all the bad things that we have done. All the lies,the corruption, the abuse of power, the killings, the hoardings...
We really do then deserve evil doers as our heroes as maybe we see ourselves in him.

The heart of the matter

We are cleansed being. We are given all to take, govern and enjoy on this blessed earth. We have everything but there are many who simply cannot, i say cannot because it is not fathomable that humans, as all of us are, would not be able to discern crap from blooming flowers.

That, is the way it is now. Most of us would constantly allow ourselves to be engulfed with crap, 24/7 and yet with some rotten logic, expect to smell like roses. There is no logic that can explain happiness and thus that is the main reason on why crappy people, no matter how rich like madoff, how powerfull like hitler, how influential like bush, can never be happy and thus will try to fill ther insatiable lust with more money, more blood and more power.

Be true,
Be just,
Be brave to protect both and happiness will cradle you even in the last grasp of air before death.

Power

People have kileed millions and will continue to do so, for power. There are of course many categories and links that can be connect with power, etc. Money, posts, influence...

It is a big challenge in any situation. We shoul reserve our comments until we are in the position of power. Nonetheless, most o the time power corrupts and a great many times, it corrupts absolutely. It is not a sin to want power, but you can easily sin if you have it. Thus, want it not, just be your good self and if it comes to you in any forms, respect and cherish it as a loan from a good friend.

If it beceomes too unberable not have it, watch the many incarnataions of the power rangers and better yet, wear the tee shirts.

Life's gift

We are alive and that is the first reason we should sing thanks and praise to our creator. We are also, well most of us are relatively healthy. One more reason to be nice and thankful.

Our country is peaceful and we can work well, travel safe, eat, drink be merry and the list goes on and it is a very very long list.

I feel bad now, if I have to complain or listen to others complain because, really, life is just a blast for me and so should most of us.

Be happy, try to be, look happy. Look around us... be thankful and be happy.

Friends

Friends.

Need to have a lot of them. Need to have a lot of the ones that u can count on. Funny, usually people do not have many of these. Usually, people who have few of these important friends aren't really that friendly themselves.

It always takes two to tango.
You reap what you sow
and get usually what you give.

That's life.

If you want friends, be friendly.
If you want to have good helpful friends, be one yourself.

But that's just me saying it, so it is the truth.
