Good times in UPM

It has been a great fifteen years of teaching and 6 years of studying in this unbelievable university. I came here way back in 1989 to do my matriculation studies. I got into the degree program in 91 and graduated in 95. I got my masters in 2002 and and have submitted my Phd at te age of 39. So if you do the maths, I have been in UPM for 21 years. As in any place you spend a long time at, there were some fantastic memories and some glum ones.

Amond the grand fantastic ones as we should not dwell in the negatives are:

1. winning the inter college debate championship in 91 and 92

2. getting to the intervarsity (Battle of Wits) debate competetion in 94

3. Going to the first Asia Intervarsity Debate Championship in 94 (my team was ranked 14th in Asia)

4. Winning the intercollege rugby championship in 94

5. Scoring two tries in the Jonah Jones 7 a side tournament (in the quarter finals)

Well, a lot of good stuff if you want to think about them, a lot of good stuff would have happened in anybody's life. Remember the good ones and you'll be a wee bit happier. Throw away the bad ugly memoris as they will not do you any good nor will it inspire others to do better.

  2. It's good to hear that you had such a wonderful experiences at UPM. From this article, I can no longer deny but to believe that you really talk for life, and the prices you won were so fantastic. Besides, I learned some new words from you article once again. In long run, I believe it surely will brush up my English by a lot. Before i forget, I am Thoo Pooi Luen (Fannie) from Group 10 of BBI2420.

Regarding the question that you asked us to find, I did prepare it, just that I scribbled it on my tiny little note book and I know it's very messy. The question isn't there because it's inside my head. I just wrote down the scenario and answers for the choices available for the question. If you do not know who am I, I am the girl who sit at the middle of 1st row on your left. =.=ll

And to achieve 5 grand fantastic memories in 21 years is quite an...achievement, I'm not sure whether I can pull that one up in these 4 years that I'll be spending here in UPM, but I'll try to give it a go :) Who knows, as what prisonerone said "great things happen to a great man"

  11. I agree that keeping good memories will make a person happier. We should always be positive-minded no matter what happens in life. I see no point in remembering our mistakes and regrets in the past when ugly memories will just bring us guilt and sorrow. Instead, we should learn to move on from the past and see our mistakes as lessons to learn.

  13. as the time quietly pass by, all we can hold on to, is our memory...sweet memories. it help us to deal with our dark memories and future hardships...for the bad memory, it bring us experiences, and for the good memory, it shows us the reason why we must keep on fighting and living in life...cause no one can end it, only god and our ownself...

  22. The university experience is one of the most memorable moments in a person’s life. We can create our own memories at university. For example, we can take part in activities organized by the university or college. All this allows us to recalled memories of the university when we work soon. At that time, we will feel that the time at the university is the best times ever we go through and we feel want to go back to that time. So, university is the most amazing time of our life and we should cherish each and every moment of it.
